I cannot say enough about these harriers. They get the job done. Running a tough Marion course in strong wind and cold conditions the Varsity girls gained, once again, some season PR records.

Marion hosted a great meet. The course was extremely well marked and maintained, although filled with hills both up and down, varied terrain making it a great challenge specifically running the start and finish legs against the wind.

Varsity Girls ran against schools that included CCA, Brethren, Mason County Eastern, Walkerville, Bear Lake-Onekama, Marion and Pentwater with a field of 30

1st Amela Thompson 20:26 – Lead the pack from gun to finish and finished a full 1 minute 45 seconds in front of the 2nd place.
13th Kaitlin Buys 25:56 with a season PR
16th Samara Turner 26:43 with a season PR
17th Jackie Cole 26:54

The Varsity girls begin to prepare for the MHSAA Pre-Regional meet, a new format of events, which is held on Saturday, Oct. 24, at Beal City.
This Division 4, Pre-Regional 60 event will include schools from Beal City, Crossroads, Blanchard Montabella, Marion, McBain Northern Michigan Christian, Vestaburg and White Cloud.
